Membership

Requirements to Join

To join the Marine Corps League as a Regular Member, you must have served in the United States Marine Corps or as an FMF Corpsman or Chaplain for more than 90 days, the character of your service has been honorable, and, if discharged, you are in receipt of an honorable discharge, and must provide proof of service (DD214).


Associate membership is open to all friends of the United States Marine Corps.  To become an Associate Member, you must support the aims and ideas of the Marine Corps League.

Download and complete the Membership Application found on the LINKS page. Bring it to a Detachment meeting, along with a copy of your DD214 and your first year's membership dues of $40.

Membership Dues

First year dues for Regular and Associate members are $40. Subsequent annual dues are $35.

Lifetime membership dues depend on age. See Paymaster or Newsletter for current cost.

Reasons to Join

  1. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization with the prestige and responsibility of a Congressional Charter.
  2. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization with an active legislative program. Through its National Legislative Committee, and its Federal Register Lobbyist, the Marine Corps League provides representation to the Congress.
  3. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization that is accredited by the Veterans Administration.
  4. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization that covers the full spectrum of Marine interests--officer, enlisted, active duty, reserve, veteran, no matter where or when you served.
  5. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization that stresses community involvement through Detachment activities and thru its sponsorship of a full spectrum of youth activities.
  6. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization that provides direct assistance to its members in resolving grievances with the Federal government.
  7. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization with a full range of individual benefits including low cost group life and health insurance and discount travel service.
  8. The League is the only Marine Corps-oriented organization that provides continuous leadership training and prestigious community positions--- Detachment (local), Department (state), and National.
  9. The RIVER CITIES DETACHMENT is fun to belong to and you can be as involved as you want.
  10. YOU'RE A MARINE--ONCE A MARINE...ALWAYS A MARINE!
