The soldering irons were hot and a few fingers were too! OUCH!
We soldered together about a dozen crosses. Col. Mike had a few special orders for the nuns at Ferdinand. Those were made, plus a few Red, White, Blue crosses, and some Marine Corps crosses. We had a great time listening to Roy tell some stories (which may be true) and also celebrated Bob and Linda's anniversary.
Third workshop is in the planning.
Marine Roy McWilliams will reserve his apartment complex community room for a stained glass workshop. We will meet in the Community Room at The Villas at Theatre Commons.
If you would like to meet for dinner before the workshop, be at Cheddars on N. Green River Rd. at 1630.
Directions: From Green River Road, Take Theater Drive west to Bogart Blvd. (opposite the Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union entrance.) Turn north. The first right is Gable Ave. The Community Room is on your right.
If you have soldering iron and solder, bring them. If not, we will have some extras.
Also, bring your own non-alcoholic beverages.
The cross making class has three objectives:
First to learn to make Stained Glass objects.
Second to take some of the burden of production off Roy.
Third as an opportunity to get together in fellowship and fun.
Roy has assured us that this is easy to learn. We will test his ability to teach a bunch of Marines how to work with solder and hot irons! (Bring Band-Aids!)
